Originally built in 1920 and fully renovated in 2000, we approached this 2025 renovation with the goal of blending historic character with modern sensibility—realizing a growing family’s vision for a hybrid open-closed floor plan.

On the first floor, we removed columns in the expansive family room and kitchen area, added a breakfast room to improve circulation, and relocated the formal dining room to create a new office space. We also incorporated a double-sided glass fireplace between the formal living and new dining rooms, and added a covered porch to strengthen the home’s connection to the backyard landscape.

Upstairs, we added a double sliding door to the primary suite to increase natural light and provide access to a previously unused roof terrace—now renovated with south-facing views of the backyard. We also designed a modern Jack and Jill bathroom to connect the children’s rooms.

Throughout the home, we refurbished original hardware, flooring, doors, trim, stairs, and windows, while integrating new hardware, lighting, wall panels, tray ceilings, custom shelving, furniture, storage, and accessories to elevate the design and functionality of each space.
